Children and Freedom

I received the following email today:

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided that I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year old again. I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is possible. I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly Excited by the little things again. I want to live simple again. I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones. I want to go to McDonald's and think that it is a four star restaurant. I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks.

I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them. I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day. I want to return to a time when life was simple. When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, imagination and mankind, and making angels in the snow. So . . here's my checkbook, and my car keys, my company badge, my credit card bills, my 401k statements, and all 32 of my computer passwords. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me, cause . . . TAG! YOU'RE IT.

Send this to 5 people you know and you won't be IT anymore and your resignation will be accepted. Don't worry, be happy! And remember, don't sweat the small stuff because it's ALL small stuff !!!

There are days when each of us feels this way. We would love to lay down our burdens and cares of life and once again embrace the days of childhood, lying on your back and imagining the clouds are dragons, mountains or faces you recognize. Today you hesitate to eat an M&M for fear of putting on weight, and you would give a great deal to be able to focus on the delight of the nearly complete abandonment of responsibility you enjoyed as a child. This is a fun pipe dream, a moment's distraction from the daily grind but what if we really did it? What if we decided to just quit life and give up?

I submit to you that is exactly what Liberalism, and Leftism in general is all about. You do not have to face life. You are not responsible for life. The government is. The government is your Daddy, or Big Brother, and he will take care of you. Cast your cares upon the broad shoulders of your loving government and you can forget all about them. You no longer need to worry about retirement, Daddy will take large portions of your pay check and create a Social Security account for you, that will supply your meager needs of old age. (And they better be meager or you are out of luck!) Mothers no longer have to worry about raising their children anymore, they can turn them over to the state to be reared according to its wishes, and then the mothers can have a career. The charge is merely another chunk stolen from everybody's paycheck, and of course the right to raise your own child as you see fit.

Men no longer need to support their families, their wives can shoulder part or all of the burden for them, and of course, since they no longer have a real role in the family, they can be free to leave. Adult children do not have to worry about their parents, because Daddy will be caring for all of their meager needs. You can place them in a nice home, where they will not be underfoot, in your busy household, that is left empty and unattended all day long. And the best part of all is Daddy foots the bill. All he asks is a large piece of your paycheck each week to be used as he sees fit. But it does not stop there.

You used to have to worry about paying the doctor yourself. It was painful and sometimes required sacrifice on you part. The poor doctors did not drive very nice cars, and their houses were no bigger than yours in those days, and they were caring unselfish men. Daddy is going to take care of all of that for you now. For another piece of your paycheck, Daddy, at the moment in the person of Bill Clinton, is offering to make sure that you have medical coverage. As a small aside, you will also be providing full medical coverage for every free-loader, every lazy drifter, every immigrant, and even illegal alien that is within our borders. With this wonderful removal of the normal responsibilities you should have for yourself, you can look forward to another huge portion of your paycheck being taken from you.

Another area where Daddy will let you give up your adulthood, and will take charge for you is in the area of race. You can forget all about the worries you had about your people. Daddy will take care of all that for you. He will tell you what to do, and what think on the subject of race, as well as most other issues. He will choose for you. You can just relax and let go. Feel the pressure ebbing away as you turn loose of your adulthood. Daddy will choose for you, the race of your neighbors, your coworkers, the children your kids will go to school with and have for their friends. He will even help your children pick the race of their marriage partner when they grow up. To defray the cost of enforcing all the related laws, and to pay for all the propaganda necessary to pull this wonderful feat off, he merely takes another big hunk of your paycheck.

As the process continues, the individual can give up all his responsibilities, as he gives up all his rights and his freedom. Liberty is for adults not children. Freedom is for those who are willing to take care of themselves and their families. Rights are for those who are willing to fight for them, even if it means, poverty, misery or an early death. Children are controlled. Children are told what time to go to bed. Children are told whether it is time to play or time to do homework, or chores. Children do not make their own choices on the big things. They will go with their parents to see a museum that they personally hate, instead of going to the park to play with their friends as they wish. Children are told how to live their lives by their parents. They are not free. Keep in mind that this a family where the parents are truly loving and caring for their children.

What about a family where the parents are uncaring, thoughtless people. What if they are cruel? That leaves the children no option but to suffer horribly. They will often grow up twisted and warped themselves. That is what the Leftist has in mind for Americans. The Soviet Union was just such a Daddy, who took care of all the needs of his "children". Their medical was covered, by hospitals that you would not send your dog to. Their food was supplied, after waiting in line for hours for a small portion. They had no need to think for themselves, and were sent to Siberia if they tried. They were children with a sick parent, and what could they do about it? Nothing!

Freedom is not some sappy, sickening sweet word that is generously dispense by our wonderful system of government. Freedom is something that was fought and died for. Many Americans today do not have a clue what that means. They see these pretend wars where America, seems like a bully the size of high school senior, beating up on a second grader. In Iraq and Yugoslavia, we hit people that had no means to hit back. We stood off in the distance and sent in missiles and bombs until there was no way they could oppose us, and then we marched over the top of the debris. We killed hundreds of thousands of them, and we lost fewer men than if we were holding a routine training mission. That is not fighting and dying for freedom. Our forefathers risked their very lives, and all of their property to procure freedom. They faced death, not as children, but as adults, fully responsible for their lives.

When Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty or give me death!" he was speaking literally, for that is what he and the other Americans of that time, were facing. They were either going to have liberty, and be able to live their lives as free adults, with all of the accompanying responsibilities, cares and worries, or they were going to literally die trying to achieve that state. It makes me sick to see what Americans have come to today, when I see the words and deeds of the great men who spawned them. Where are our Patrick Henrys today? Where are the brave White men who are willing to pledge their lives and their fortunes in the fight against tyranny, and for liberty? Where are the men who would be adults in this sick and twisted world of only children? It is time my brothers to show yourselves as men, and for you to cast off the costumes of childhood. It is time that we refuse to accept one more "gift" from Daddy, and to force him to give us back what our Forefathers earned with their blood: the right to live our lives as adults, as free men! It is time to say in honesty, and say it loud, "Give ME liberty, or give ME death!"

Only you can
prevent extinction!
